Recap of North City Transit Talk

Last night we held our third “Transit Talk” where we gathered feedback from transit users on what they’d like to see changed — items the Transit Riders Union can begin working on together in improving transit in St. Louis. The first was Monday March 12th on the southside (recap) and the second was Tuesday March 20th downtown (recap). Last night we were at the Julia Davis branch of the St. Louis Public Library in north St. Louis.

Some topics discussed last night were:

  • A need for safer locations to make bus-to-bus transfers specifically in North St. Louis
  • A need for a more visible security presence on MetroBus and at MetroBus transit centers
  • The number of service changes makes Metro appear incompetent
  • The need for a transit riders association with strong membership

Our steering committee will now begin the process of compiling, sorting and prioritizing the long list of topics gathered at these three events. Stayed tuned for updates.
